What is the Keratin Soothing Therapy by COPPOLA?

The Keratin Treatment by Coppola is a specially formulated revitalizing and rejuvenating treatment for the hair that eliminates frizz and curl. The advanced patent pending formulation restores and restructures hair by infusing a special blend of natural keratin deep into the damaged cuticle. The keratin is bonded into the cuticle by the heat of he flat iron to relax the hair’s sub-cuticle layer.

How much time should I allow for my Keratin Complex treatment?

The time to complete your Keratin treatment will depend upon your hair length, type and texture. Beacuse there are mulitple steps involved in the proper application of Keratin Complex Treatment, please allow a minimum of 2 to 3 hours for me to complete your treatment.

What results can I expect after my Keratin Complex treatment?

Your hair will be more manageable and take much less time to style. It will be noticeably softer and smoother, with added life and shine as well as a lengthened look.

How are some places able to offer cheap keratin treatments?

When you see an advertisement for Keratin Treatment that is significantly lower than the industry standard, you should ask questions about the quality of the product used, the training that the stylist has undergone and the amount of time the stylist utilizes in applying your keratin therapy. Our price depends upon the length and thickness of your hair which is reflective on the amount of product and time neccessary to produce superior results with Keratin Therapy Treatment by Coppola.

At Ibiza Hair Design, we use Keratin Therapy Treatment by Coppola at the manufacturer’s recommended strength and applied for the manufacturer’s recommended time for your hair type. Cheap keratin treatments may involve a watered down product or a product that is not sealed to your hair for the proper amount of time thus producing inferior results.

Can my hair be colored before the treatment?
Yes! As a matter of fact, a great time to have keratin treatment done would be directly after coloring or chemically treating your hair. The color will be sealed in, leaving your hair vibrant and extending the life of the color. However, you must wait two weeks to color your hair after the treatment.

Can the treatment be done on chemically treated hair, or hair that has been previously relaxed or straightened?
Yes, but you must wait a minimum of two weeks before using the Keratin Complex Soothing treatment on recently relaxed or straightened hair.

How long will the treatment last?
The Keratin Complex Treatment by COPPOLA last 3-6 months, depending upon hair type and texture, provided you follow all after care instructions.

We recommend you use the a sulfate-free smoothing shampoo, such as Pureology’s Super Smooth Shampoo, followed by Super Smooth Conditioner. A weekly deep conditioning treatment is also recommended.

How often can the treatment be done?
The treatment can be repeated as often as every 4-6 weeks if you so desire.

Is the re-application of the treatment done on the entire head or just the new growth?
The re-application is done on the entire head as the the build-up of keratin can only improve, not harm, your hair.

Should my hair be cut before or after the keratin treatment?

We recommend that the hair be cut after your treatment, as your hair will have a smoother texture and lay differently .

How many days after the treatment before the hair can get wet or be washed?

You must wait 72 hours from the time of treatment before washing your hair, swimming or getting your hair wet.

Can my hair be pulled back or clipped up during the 72 hour waiting period?

No. Your hair should not have any impressions made by bands or clips.

What should be done if my hair gets wet during the 72-hour waiting period?

Blow dry your hair as soon as possible and flat iron.

Hope that helps! Now, I know for some people 72 hours can be a long time. Luckily, I have another option. Brazilian Gloss, another great Keratin treatment gives you the same amazing results, but you are able to wash your hair the very next day if you like. The treatment doesn’t last quite as long as the COPPOLA, but the cost is a little less, and for some people its worth not waiting the 72 hours. This is also a good choice for active clients who need to wash their hair more often.

Wow! What a ride! Its been 3 weeks since my trip back to India. And…wow. Thats all I keep saying to myself when I think back on the last month of my life. And experience I will never forget. So many memories and adventures that is almost impossible for me to keep track of without my handy digital camera.

If you know me well enough, then you probably know I came back with some pretty BIG news!

I am so happy to say that while on our trip to India, Alphonso (my wonderful boyfriend of 4 years) and got tied the knot! Now, this was not planned at all, but I think being so far away from our comfort zone really put things into perspective. What better place to spirtually commit to the one you love than in India?! Go big or go home, right? ;o)

I can’t wait to share our experience with our family and friends…and anyone else interested. So I’m currently starting up a new blog just for that!

I’m just getting started, so be patient. I do love to procrastinate, but I think this is something I definitely need to get out of me while the memories are still fresh in my mind. And it will be fun for Alphonso and I to look back on it.

The countdown to my big India trip is narrowing down…Yikes! So much to do with these last three weeks! I’m so happy to say I’ve really been booking up at the salon! Keep ‘em comin’! Wow, absolutely LOVED the awesome Redken color class I went to today! Its classes like this that always give me that extra boost I need throughout the months to REALLY get inspired! Out of all the classes I’ve attended, Redken teachers are by far the most interactive. You can tell they all have a true passion for Haircolor! LOVE IT! With all this extra energy I’m excited about trying some of the great new colors Redken has come out with! I am leaving for my big trip to India in exactly two months! What a way to ring in the New Year!

There’s nothing like the New Year to make you feel like “ONCE AGAIN, I have another chance!” January is always the best month for me. A clean slate. “I’m gonna work out…I’m gonna quit doing this, and start doing that…” Oh yes. We all know the feeling. But the very best part of the New Year is the desire for a new look! And what better way to start than a new ‘do! Even though its been a bit warm in Santa Barbara, its still the time of year for rich colors like chocolate browns or deep auburns…Treat yourself to a Conditioning Color Gloss. My girl, Brittany came all the way from the dirty south of Houston to get some much needed TLC for her hair…or maybe, at that point…we’ll call it dreads (love ya, girl! )

One thing I will definitely miss about Brittany is her ability to pull off ANY look! Which always gave me the freedom to go crazy! Something you don’t get very often in Santa Barbara. She’s anything but your natural blonde with a few highlights! And she always looks amazing!

The hot Houston sun really got the best of her hair…as you can see from the before picture. Being from the south, I know how it is, so I really had to push up my sleeves and give her a look that was as bold as her personality, yet adding back that much needed shine and hydration her hair was lacking for the past year she was away.

Another thing I love about Brittany is that she has no fear when it comes to cut and color. The cut was inspired by Katie Holmes’ current look…with a little bit more…”BOOTY CLAP!” as Brittany would say. We took this conservative style and really gave it the edge that she desired. Taking off those super dry ends really helped, but the rest of her hair definitely needed extra richness in color, and LOTS of hydration. I chose Redken Shades, a semi-permanent color gloss that gives her that rich color she wants while still adding the shine she desperately needed. This is also perfect for anyone who is not able to keep up with the maintence that most color clients have to commit to.
